Lighten Up!

I wanna lighten up the look around here. I am going to keep the larger dark wood pieces as anchors so to speak, while lightening up the accessories. That's my theory anyway. So, since chunking everything and going out and spending a ridiculous amount of money on replacements is not where I'm at right now,  I'm gonna hit the cheapest thrift store ever... My house! Yep, fingers crossed. My first guinea pig is this little photo frame given to me by my sister. The photo has been removed to protect the innocent (and in case it all goes horribly wrong.)

So here's the little beauty in all of her "Before Glory"

dusted off, then employed Krylon "Almond" in a nice satin finish.

Added a little glaze action.....

A little more glaze action.......

And....Voila!  Here's a close up for "detail effect"
Well there she is now, basking in the after math.
Surprise Sissy! Hope you like it!

Glass Top Table Redo

Okay , so here's a little table that's been in and out of the garage many times. We've been dragging it around and using in a variety of ways for years. Most recently stuffed behind the couch with an arrangement of miscellany. Tired old thing, after all she's done for us, she deserves a makeover.....

I armed myself with Valspar, in "Pistachio" and "Churchill Hotel Vanilla" and
some hand made paper I picked up at World Market.

After some minor disassembling, it was off to the "spray booth"

Almost there......Have to cut and attach the paper under the glass.

There ya go girl!

Close up of the top with flowers from my Baby Girl's Birthday in an old pitcher fm my Hubby's Great Aunt. Love stuff like that. I'm a "Keeper of Things"

I still have to finish the little stool that goes with. Love the spring time breeze but it's not so great for the spray booth. I Think she likes her new digs and I can change out the inserts to suit seasons or occasions. The look doesn't really go with anything in the house yet, so I think I'll make a room around it.  Maybe just "Girl out" with some cottage style, or funky cute, I don't know yet. Undecided....Imagine that!    :)
